Happy Easter!

This year, like most, we went to my mom's house for Easter. Mostly b/c I like Kate to go to church on Easter and we haven't found a church to attend where we live. So of course, I had to buy her a cute Easter dress and all! We had a great weekend. We hunted eggs (more times than I would like to admit), colored eggs, went to church and participated in a Easter Egg hunt and held a bunny and then Kate got all kinds of goodies from the Easter bunny. It was so funny though because when she woke up on Sunday I told her I thought that the Easter bunny had left her something in the kitchen. Her response: I bet he left prints allllll through Nana's house just like Santa! Side Note: We put flour on the bottom of Brian's boots and left footprints through the house from the fireplace to the tree for Christmas. So anyways, I made up an excuse and said that the bunny didn't leave prints on the floor because I think his feet were pretty clean when he came in. She seemed ok with this and ran into the kitchen to see what she got. Of course it was a plethora of Dora stuff and she was thrilled.

Names

As we move closer to the due date (ok, we still have awhile but the date is still getting closer and closer) hubby and I have been throwing around names for the little one. We had originally thought we might just name him after hubby but the thought of calling him Junior or Jeff or BJ just isn't sitting well with us. Or it just isn't making us really excited. Then we came up with a list of all the names that we thought were ok or liked. We have sat down a couple of times and marked off names that we just didn't think we liked or couldn't see us screaming at our kid. So now it is down to a couple and we just can't decide. I'm glad we still have a little while b/c we would be in trouble if we didn't. So, I thought I would put what we have left on the list and see if anyone has an opinion or any thoughts on the names we have left. However, just because you say that you don't like something does not mean that our child will not be named that. I'm just looking for thoughts on our names. Or do you have any others that you think are good names? So here is the list:

Alexander (Alex)
Ford
John
Chase
Luke/Lucas

I think this is all that is left. I really like the name Cooper, but Brian says that is out. We have thrown around the name John Alexander a lot and I really like Chase Alexander but given our last name his initials would be JAR or CAR. I guess it could be worse! So there they are. Let the opinions roll......

Now all I think I need for him is onsies, a couple of blankets (non pink of course), socks, pacifiers, medicine, diapers and wipes. I'm probably forgetting something b/c it has been awhile since I've had a baby.

And There Was Movement!

Hubby has recently been trying very hard to feel the baby move and of course has yet to feel anything. He always walks away with a disappointed look on his face like something is wrong with him b/c he can't feel what I'm feeling. Which at this point is pretty constant. The kid is kicking me a lot! Last night we were laying in bed talking and baby boy started kicking and I told hubby to put his hand on my stomach. He did and after a few minutes, he felt it. He was pretty excited, but not as excited as I had expected considering he has gone around pouting about not being able to feel it. But he was glad and I think proud of himself for feeling the baby kick. I was really surprised he felt it b/c I thought it was a little early for someone else to feel the kicks, but the doc did say he had long legs! So that is our exciting news for the day.

I took pics of the loot I got from the consignment sale and as soon as I find the cord to link the camera to the computer I will post them so you can all see what I got. Be prepared! It is a lot! And if any of you are planning on getting me a baby gift :) there are still things I need so don't worry. My mom said I need to come up with a list of things I need so I'll be working on that. Bye bye!

Warm Weather and other nonsense

This past weekend was so beautiful. It was so nice and warm it made me feel like Spring may actually show up. Saturday I shopped at a consignment sale and bought little miss priss several outfits and Buddha (only name I can come up with so far since he is making me feel like I look like Buddha) lots of outfits. I actually went a little crazy buying him stuff. Clothes only though. Maybe if I get the energy up I'll take pics and post them! On Sunday, hubby was feeling giddy about the weather and insisted we take the ski boat out. So we loaded up and went to Lay Lake. It was so beautiful. Of course we didn't swim b/c the water was OH MY GOD cold. We just rode around a little bit and layed out and played with the toys in the boat that we brought for Kate. She was kinda mad b/c she wanted to swim, but after feeling the water she decided it would be better to swim at home in the bathtub. So after all that excitement, I am now sunburned badly. I made sure to put sunscreen on Kate's face, but her arms got missed and they are really red. I didn't use any sunscreen and now look crazy because I have white spots where my sunglasses were and my nose is blood red. It is sooooo going to peel. And it hurts. My face, arms and legs hurt. Apparently hubby is not feeling the pain as much as I am, b/c he isn't complaining. What luck!
