Using the bathroom

I never knew that using the bathroom would become such a big conversation piece between people but it seems that along with me other mothers talk about it a lot too. I now realize as I have in the not so distant past that I may never go to the bathroom alone. Or at least until she turns 12. There was a joke passed around that I got not so long ago about a child going to the bathroom with her in a public place and praising her for going to the bathroom. Well, here is my story....

We went today to see the Imagination Movers (they are on the Disney Channel) and I went to the restroom after the show. Of course I had to take her into the stall with me. I just had to pee but as I was peeing, she was yelling.... Yeah Mommy!!!! Mommy go pee pee in Potty!!!! Yeah!! Then she patted my leg and started rubbing it. Then she tried getting toilet paper and wiping me!!!!! Keep in mind we are in a small stall. I had to explain to her that only mommy wipes her and I don't need help. Then she starts screaming at me that she wants to wipe. I'm sure we gave a few people a good laugh today. How embarrassing!!!!

Kissing Boys

My 10 year class reunion was this weekend and the first part of it was at a park so we could bring our kids and everyone could see everyone elses kids. You know I was curious! And of course I wanted to show Kate off, because I am so very proud of her. I knew she would have a good time because I knew she would actually know some of the kids there. We keep in touch with some of the people that I graduated with. So Sebastian and Christine came and Kate really likes Sebastian and I think the feeling is mutual. They are so good together. They just played and chased each other around and held hands. And then they had a big hug and Sebastian grabbed her face and planted a huge kiss right on her lips. That is right she is already making out with boys. But I have to say.... if she is going to do it, at least I know him and his parents and I'm ok with it.

Sweet but Mouthy

What a sweet face! She does have the sweetest moments. Sometimes when I hurt myself or if she thinks she sees that I have a boo boo she will lean over and kiss it and say, " I kiss boo boo mommy." She is constantly talking now. We are now in the "Time Out" stage and she is now using it on her babies. Her babies are constantly in "Time Up" which cracks me up! We have been working on potty training for some time now, but it is going slowly. Sometimes I ask her if she wants to go pee pee in the potty and her response is.... "NO... I unna go to Nanna's House!!!" How do you respond to that? I've started bribing her with candy to pee in the potty and it seems to work really well. She gets ice cream if she goes #2. She actually went #2 this week, so she got ice cream for breakfast. What can I say! I can't go back on my word if I'm going to get this kid potty trained!

Other things she is saying:

• She can count to three (we are working on 4)
• She can say ABC (working on D)
• She loves to sing, but right now she isn't singing anything specific. Sometimes I think she is singing the BIBLE, but she only says BIBI.
• She basically can tell you what she wants to eat (soup, goldfish, pretzels, carrots, ice cream, pickles, nuts, snacks, ham, cheese or cheese stick, grapes, and crackers. There are more I'm sure but I can't think of anything else.)

She also tells us she wants apple juice or juice or chocolate milk or milk. She tells Brian to be nice all the time and tells Chloe she loves her. She is really quite bossy. She tells people to sit where she wants them to sit. And if she doesn't want you to do something she says "no, no, no".

She is almost three feet tall (just an inch away) and she is in the 95% for her age in height. She is in the 60% for her weight at 27.5 lbs. So I would say that she is growing like a weed and getting bigger every day.
