This past weekend we went to Smith Lake to celebrate Labor Day with family. And to celebrate my stepdads 50th birthday. Kate has become a little fish lately and her typical activities at Smith Lake usually go something like this.
- Run to the ladder on the dock.
- Climb down carefully holding the ladder.
- Hop up and down in the water while holding onto the ladder.
- Swim around close to the ladder.
- Then go up the ladder, find the nearest cooler and get a piece of ice out, stick it in her mouth then get another piece to go and close cooler.
- Run back to ladder and put extra piece of ice in front of ladder and proceed down the ladder.
Start the process over again.
Sometimes she varies of course and will just swim around or try to jump off a float or ride in the paddle boat. She has also seen a cousin jump off the dock so she thinks she can too. But she doesn't know how. So I have to hold both arms and act like she is jumping in and just stick her in the water. Then she promptly swims right for the ladder and wants to do it again. I know she stayed in the water a good portion of the weekend. And the water was cold. But kids don't seem to notice things like that!
Her cousin Baby Jackson as she calls him was there too. He is such a cutie and such a good baby! He is five months old and Kate spent the other half of her time helping Aunt Erin take care of him. She loves loves loves babies! So of course I'm putting pics up of some of our fun!
